OSTEOPATHY
Structural care that treats the whole picture
not just the pain
At GSMC, osteopathy is part of our integrated model of care — working alongside physiotherapy, podiatry, and other services to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction holistically.
Our osteopath Will Paatsch takes a structural, full-body approach to injury and imbalance. Rather than chasing symptoms, he assesses how your body moves, functions and compensates — looking for patterns that may be contributing to your pain, restriction, or performance limitations.
With a strong grounding in anatomy, biomechanics, and manual therapy, osteopaths aim to restore function and movement, not just provide temporary relief. Treatment is tailored and may include hands-on techniques, education, movement-based strategies, and collaboration with your wider care team.
Common Conditions We Treat
Osteopathy may be suitable for a wide range of issues, including:
Should I See a Physiotherapist or Osteopath?
It depends on your presentation, preferences, and what’s happening in your body. Osteopaths take a full-body, structural approach that often suits people with complex postural patterns, spinal issues, or chronic tension.
Physiotherapists tend to focus more on targeted rehab, sport-specific recovery, and strength-based retraining. At GSMC, you don’t have to choose blindly — we’ll guide you to the best fit based on your needs, and often refer between services as part of your ongoing care.
Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages and activity levels — whether you’re recovering from injury, managing long-term tension, or simply trying to move more freely in your daily life.
Many of our clients see osteopathy as a complement to physiotherapy or podiatry, particularly when dealing with complex or compensatory movement patterns. You don’t need a referral — just a goal to feel better in your body.
Geelong Sports Medicine Centre and Fitness Lab are part of the same integrated team — one business, working together under one roof to bring clinical care, fitness, and sports performance into a single, connected environment.
Fitness Lab is our dedicated gym and performance space, designed to support strength development, Elite performance, recovery, and general fitness. But you don’t need to be injured — or experienced — to come to the Fitness Lab.
We offer casual memberships, personalised programs, performance testing, recovery tools, and group Strength, Pilates, Aqua and Yoga classes — all under one roof, and all designed to help you move, feel, and live better.
