Compensable Care at GSMC
Geelong Sports Medicine Centre works with a range of compensable bodies including TAC, WorkCover, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). We welcome clients supported by these programs — and we’re here to help you access the care you need with clarity, respect, and professionalism.
WorkCover
We support clients recovering from workplace injuries through structured, evidence-based rehabilitation.
What we need before your first appointment:
What to expect:
You’ll receive an individualised plan that evolves as you recover, and we’ll stay in communication with your insurer and rehab team. We support return-to-work goals and gradual reintroduction to physical activity where appropriate.
TAC
GSMC supports recovery following transport accidents and injury, including ongoing rehabilitation.
Before you arrive:
What to expect:
We work with you (and your rehab team, if you have one) to deliver high-quality care that helps you progress with confidence — whether you’re managing pain, rebuilding movement, or returning to work or sport.
NDIS
GSMC supports NDIS participants seeking allied health and movement-based therapy aligned with their plan.
Before your first appointment:
Please note:
We do not offer high-care neuro rehab or complex disability services. Clients must be medically stable and able to participate in movement-based therapy with appropriate supervision. A initial consultation with a physiotherapist will determine whether GSMC is suitable for your needs.
GP CHRONIC CONDITION MANAGEMENT PLANS (GPCCMP)
We accept GP referrals – for Chronic Condition Management Plans under the Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan. (Formerly EPC’s)
If you have a chronic or ongoing condition, your GP may provide you with an GPCCMP referral to access up to five subsidised allied health sessions per calendar year. These can be used with eligible providers at GSMC — including physiotherapy, exercise physiology, podiatry, dietetics, and osteopathy.
What to bring:
Things to note:
We’re happy to guide you through the process and ensure you’re getting the most from your referral. If you’re unsure whether you qualify or which services apply, feel free to contact our team before your first visit.
