LEVEL 1 SPORTS TRAINERS COURSE

Comprehensive training for individuals who want to become qualified sports trainers, capable of providing immediate and ongoing care for athletes.

Course Mode & Duration

This course is delivered part online and part in person.  

Prerequisites

  • Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID011
  • Current CPR Certificate HLTAID009

Course Content

  • Principles of injury prevention
  • Immediate injury management
  • Sports taping techniques
  • Common sporting injuries
  • Medical conditions in sport
  • Concussion management

Assessment

  • Demonstration of practical skills
  • Role play/scenario work
  • Written assessment

Certificate

A Sports Trainer Level 1 Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the course. The Certificate is valid for 3 years.

Cost: $205

Ongoing support from GSMC’s allied health professionals — including advice lines and clinical guidance.
